Street Kings Trailer Uses RZA’s Blade Music
Feb 12th, 2008 by Jet Set
Haven’t seen this happening before. The trailer to a film uses the music made for another film. Being the Street Kings trailer using RZA’s Fatal from the Blade Trinity Soundtrack. Can’t recall if Fatal was really used in Trinity. But it is known that RZA composed the soundtrack to the film.
Now Street Kings itself doesn’t looks very promising. Never impressed by Common. Keanu is not exactly known for his acting qualities. I can always find that ‘But Why?‘ moment. It’s funny, but doesn’t add up to the total experience. Plus the movie looks like just another cop flick.
At first I confused the original title, The Night Watchmen, with Night Watch. Thinking it may have something to do with the Russian Cult Horror Trilogy.
That’s not all. There is also some kind of super hero film coming by the name of Watchmen, for 2009. With a quite interesting plot:
In an alternate 1985 where superheroes exist, tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are at an all time high. The vigilante Rorschach is investigating the murder of the Comedian, and uncovers a plot to discredit and murder various heroes. Rorschach discovers a far wider ranging conspiracy involving his colleagues’ past which could completely change the course of history.
Street Kings will be out on April 11th in the US.

Dammit! I was gonna post this trailer up with 9 others next week on my blog. As far as Watchmen goes, it’s plot is well known the world over and it’s considered the greatest graphic novel ever created. There’s even a blog dedicated to the creation of the film and it’s one of the most anticipated films in recent movie history.
One.
I just read that the Watchmen scheduled for 2009 was hit with a lawsuit by Fox. Stating they have some rights to the first movie produced.
Godod looking. Using music made for another movie in a trailer is common practice though, the music of requiem for a dream for example has been used a billion times
That’s some crazy score to that movie. Everytime I put that soundtrack on, you feel it real hard. Kronos Quartet is just chilling, and not as in laid back.
Lol, just saw this on wiki:
The soundtrack has been widely praised and has subsequently been used in various forms in trailers for other films and series, including The Da Vinci Code, Sunshine, Lost, I am Legend and the video game Assassin’s Creed. More specifically, a version of the recurring theme was re-orchestrated for the The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers film trailer.[3] This version is often known as “Requiem for a Tower”. It has also been featured in many other commercials and trailers, and as remixes on other artists’ albums. For example, psytrance giants G.M.S. are widely known for their mix of the song, titled ‘Juice by GMS’. Lil’ Jon’s track, “Throw It Up” uses a sample from the main theme as the beat.
Either that soundtrack is on some other level.
