Ghostface Walk Hard with Jewel
Nov 13th, 2007 by Jet Set
Just to keep everybody sharp, Miss Info has reminded us of the Jewel-Ghostface collabo for the Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
But wait…it turns out Ghost, Jewel, Jackson, and Lyle actually perform the movie’s title song…Lyle told Rolling Stone: “I had met Jackson years ago and he’s always been really kind to me… And I had met Jewel but I had never sung with her. She was great to work with. And it was the first time to meet Ghostface Killah. It was very cool, he’s very cool. There’s a breakdown in our version, where Jewel yodels and he raps over that.”
This rendition will be performed at the end of the movie during the Lifetime Achievement Award for Dewey Cox. The trailer does show the trio minus Ghostface.
The movie looks promising. Propably another good fratpack movie to add to the list of Super Bad, Anchor Man, Taladega Nights & Old School. The movie itself is going to be a take on films like Ray & Walk The Line.
The story of musician Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly), whose songs would change a nation. On his rock ‘n roll spiral, Cox sleeps with 411 women, marries 3 times, has 22 kids and 14 stepkids, stars in his own 70s TV show, collects friends ranging from Elvis to The Beatles to a chimp, and gets addicted to – and then kicks – every drug known to man… but despite it all, Cox grows into a national icon and eventually earns the love of a good woman – longtime backup singer Darlene (Jenna Fischer).
Walk Hard will be hitting theatres on the 21st of december. Europe has to wait a couple of month depending on your country. The soundtrack is set to be released on the 4th. So far it looks like only the original Walk Hard song will appear on that. There are talks of A Box of Cox, which may or may not be released at a later moment.
