The Big Doe Rehab Reviews
Dec 3rd, 2007 by Jet Set
The reviews for Ghosts latest are pouring in.
HipHopDX: 4,5/5
Ghostface hasn’t faltered at all in his ability to rhyme, tell stories, or choose banging production. Aside from the very few missteps previously mentioned, the only thing you can really complain about with this album is its large guest list.
AllHipHop: 8,5/10
Consider this disc The Pretty Toney Album plus guest spots from his Wu brethren. If you must find a critical faux pas, it’s Ghost dedication to his style. No far out R&B guests, awkward beats or any experiments in flow; but then that wouldn’t really be Ghost’s modus operandi now would it?
RealTalkNY: 4/5
Aside from the unneeded skits and interludes, there is very little to criticize on The Big Doe Rehab. Ghost is clearly anything but lazy with his rhymes, and even more impressive, he continues to rap over production that blends the old-school Wu sound with the soulful and band-inspired sounds of modern hip-hop today.
RollingStone: 4/5
In the six years the Clan were on hiatus, Ghostface Killah was busy becoming one of the greatest MCs ever. The Big Doe Rehab isn’t as distinct as last year’s Fishscale, but it’s close.
HHNLive: 4/5
