If my mind recalls correctly You Can’t Stop Me Now was a title planned to be on the 8 Diagrams album. Previous news bits have John Frusciante playing on the guitars and RZA doing production. Now like suspected it ended up elsewhere. The new bobby digital album to be exact.
To be fair the track is real nice. No real bobby feel here. I approve.
On another note, the cover you see here is done by Gary Alford and seems to be an early sketch for the cover. The album is slated for a July 1st release.
- Where are the 8 Diagrams videos?
When Feb 1st came and went, and there was no promo, I knew it was over. We still have the Feb 11th Special Edition release, (it got pushed back). But I fail to see how that can make a real impact. Or a resurrection at that. The album is currently residing at number 132 on the Billboard 200. Everybody dropped the ball on this one.
- Where was The RZA press conference?
Yes, I’m bringing this up again. It almost looks like RZA had a radio silence over the past two months. With the additional Bobby Digital show here and there. But like the Clan shows, no 8 Diagrams performances. What is The Abbott thinking?
- What is the latest news on Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang?
Like RZA, Rae has been quite silent about his Shoalin vs Wu-Tang project. The Clan has been heavily touring. Did they string that togetehr with the cooking of some new tracks? Or was the project scrapped altogether after RZA & Rae talked it over.
- Why does the Wu fail to see that nobody is enjoying their inner turmoil?
Nobody is really enjoying the current state of the famous W. And besides their inner struggles being outed, it also took a turn outside with 50 & Soulja Boy. Don’t think they will respond to any of that. And I think they took the hint.
- Will Rae respond to Shy?
My immediate guess is no. Too much of a trouble to go over matter like this. A DVD shout out? Come on. Shy’s track was funny though. The best thing for Rae to do is release OB4CLII this year and make it a classic. That real punch you in the face music.
- Bobby Digital – Digi Snacks?
Maybe not everybody is looking forward to this. I was just wondering if the Bobby album is still up for the first quarter of ’08.
- True Master – Master Craftsman?
What will the Truest bring on his upcoming album? Strictly producing, because he still got those bombs. Or will he pick up the mic more. My hope is on the producing side like Mathematics. True really has a nice resumé of producing.
- When will we see the We Celebrate video?
To close this mondays thoughts off, where is the We Celebrate video? Last month The Big Doe Rehab was last seen at 190th spot on the Billboard 200. We saw some Making Of. And Ghost expressed his feelings about the BDR numbers sold. It was putting him in the rehab for real. Hopefully this video won’t get shelved like the Theodore video. I expect an out of the blue release onYouTube.
The trailer to the much anticipated Bobby Digital movie. Showing it does indeed exist. Voice over by the one and only Isaac Hayes. Set to be the movie to his first Bobby Digital album. It never came out. And RZA has no plans to release it anytime soon.
This is the short film RZA made for Domestic Violence. One of his first efforts as a director. The short film could be purchased as a VHS around ’99, at the time of the bobby digital album release. It was distributed by Wu-Tang Filmz. This was, to my knowledge the only thing they did.
Alot of Wu Fam appearances in this one, M.M.O., Jamie Summers, Superb, Popa Wu, Black Knights, 12 O’clock, Prodigal Son & Remedy,
Enjoy, and note the end of the piece.
Some of y’all may have heard abou this already. The group Achozen, formed by RZA & Shavo Odadjian from System Of A Down. Besides those two it includes Kinetic and Rev. William Burk. All the members have different names in the group: The Abbot (aka THE RZA), M.D. 36-22 (aka Shavo) and Lit L. Kinet 9(aka Kinetic).
- Achozen (Feb., probably gonna get pushed back)
- Beretta 9 – “Kinetic Radio Vol. 2” (March 2008)
- RZA – “Digi-Snacks” (Spring 2008)
- Beretta 9 Solo Album (Late 2008)
There’s also a movie soundtrack that Achozen will have tracks on early next year so check for that!
Thus also a B9 solo is dropping next year and the third bobby album.
And we got another RZA interview. Heavy promo for 8 Diagrams. Also goes into the Rae & Ghost situation, recording Life Changes and maybe a future Clan album. Next year a new boby digital LP is coming, Digi Snacks. And RZA finished another movie.

RZA AS BOBBY DIGITAL IN STEREO

TIM’s BIO: FROM THE MOTION PICTURE: LIFE FROM DA BASSMENT
YOU KNOW THOSE STORIES WHERE there are two equally talented brothers, but then something goes awry and one turns bad while the other remains good? Here’s another.
Robert Diggs (the RZA) and Tim Mosley (Timbaland) are among the few modern sound makers who have a signature sound, not a formula. On new albums — RZA as Bobby Digital in Stereo and Tim’s Bio: From the Motion Picture: Life From da Bassment — both step out from behind the soundboard and grab the mike, create jobs for members of their large and extra-dope crews and lay down music you might hear in a sci-fi flick: dense, textured, sculpted music, with all sorts of treasures buried in the tracks — the kind that the always-prescient Public Enemy used to make.

He’s a hedonist B-boy, an untouchable MC, a digitized ghetto Superman. He’s got a new movie, a new album, his own comic book and 100,000 icy pops. Meet Bobby Digital, the living figment of RZA’s imagination. “Bobby’s been in the back of my head,” RZA says. “He’s inspired by things from my childhood and things I’ve been through, with fiction added around it.” The fiction part goes like this: In a lab high atop Wu Mountain, RZA dips a blunt into an experimental elixir called honey. A few tokes down the line and bam! Bobby Digital is born. “This cat Bobby,” RZA explains, “he has the mind of RZA, but he tends to his lower nature. He believes he’s in the Garden of Eden and it’s all meant to enjoy.” Bobby sets out to soak up the earth’s pleasures while cleaning up the streets. “He’s a hero to the kids,” RZA says. “He gets into a dispute with gangs because of his teachings. So he goes underground, and he experiments more, fuckin’ with the honey until it explodes and blasts him into other worlds.”

RZA’S DIGITAL DUO
by Shawnee Smith
Billboard; 12/05/98, Vol. 110 Issue 49
This summer. Wu-Tang Clan visionary Rza embarked on a similar home-video project, titled “Bobby Digital.” it’s a story about Rza’s alter ego, Bobby Digital. who appears when Rza drinks a magic formula he discovers while doing chemical experiments in his lab at the fictional Wu-Mountain.
Digital, who wears a different eye patch to match each of his various outfits, is depicted as a womanizing party-animal with super powers he uses to his benefit.
The movie, which was shot in New York and Philadelphia, was directed by Rza, who also stars in the film as himself and the title character. It is being produced by Uncle Ralph Productions, a company owned by Video Music Box co-founder. Ralph McDaniels.
Although the film is more creative than it’s progenitors, Rza says the movie was totally improvised, “1 had no script, just an outline.” he says.

It’s been over 8 years now since the announcement of our bobby digital movie. And it now seems it’s not coming anytime this season.
“G” The Promoter revealed this bit on the forums of Wu-Tang Corp.
The movie does exsist in full, I spoke with RZA last year and had asked him again ,and he had no plans to release it anytime soon. Much of it was filmed in Philly @ the old armory and it does contain some memorable scenes of ODB at his best. Many of the artists rocked the gear Fox Racing used to lace us with throughout the video. Only a few of us have copies, and it stays a secret till RZA chooses to release it
It’s a real shame because alot of fans are actually curious to see it. This and his other kung fu project he did, which never finished.
