Masta Killa interview with Forbes

With his last album Loyalty is Royalty just released. One that was in the works for quite some time. Most fans know that Noodles takes his time. But he also wants to really do it by himself. And in this interview with Forbes Masta explains his ways. A good short read.

Zilla Rocca speaks with Wu-Tang member Masta Killa about his solo career, working with PETA, and the modern state of music consumption.

Ghostface is backing an ICO

The amount of people, spending their days investing & trading in cryptocurrencies is still growing. Once seen as a fad by some 3-4 years ago. Crypto is most certainly here to stay. And with the new wave of attention, there is the introduction of ICO’s. This one quite nicely, or quite standardly, named C.R.E.A.M. A reference to the famous Wu-Tang Clan song of the same name about money. But also slang for money.

The interesting tidbit about this ICO is that it is backed by one of the original nine members of the Wu-Tang Clan: Ghostface Killah. Known for his vivid wordplay & storytelling on a crime & fantastiscal level. Though C.R.E.A.M. does play a role as a recurring topic in many of his songs and albums. The always colourfull Tony Starks is not really known for his investment skills. One is only left to wonder what to make of this.

One of Wu Tang Clan’??s members is apparently throwing himself behind a new ICO

Bloomberg Critical On OUATIS Clan credits

Over on Bloomberg an article has been published that is very critical of the Once Upon A Time In Shaolin album. Through interviews with Killa Sin, Shyheim & the manager of U-God a reconstruction is attempted of the making of OUATIS. Echoed by these people is the sentiment that this started out as a new record for Cilvaringz, and not a Clan record. Besides that, many of them fell hurt & disrespected by the scheming around the recent release of the project. It’s a nice read to add to the ever revolving saga around this concept album.

Shkreli, who currently faces a prison sentence for fraud, may himself have been deceived about his $2 million purchase.

Collection of OUTIS Snippets [VIDEO/AUDIO]

Someone took it upon him- or herself to bless the masses with this collection of snippets from the infamous album. As you can hear, the audio is not the best of quality. This may in fact hurt more to the ears and legacy of the album itself, than do it good. Who wants to hear 64kpbs audio in 2017? It is almost like this album was sponsored by RealPlayer.

Anyway, enjoy these snippets. This may well be the only thing you may ever hear from the album of the people you supported through all these years.

[removed] OUATIS Ends Up As eBay Auction

Da Saga Continues, or so someone once said half way through the 90’s referring to the second Wu-Tang Clan album that was about to come through. It was one of the many working titles that was thrown into the ether by Clan members. No it seems, the saga of the sophomore Cilvaringz album that has been continually referred to as a Clan album while besides The RZA none of the actual Clan members has heard the album, knows no end.

In a move that that propably surprised many, Shkreli has seen taken a new approach to the revaluation of art as an artform. As of now you can publicly place a bid on the much sought after album on eBay. At the moment of writing, the current bid is US $1,000,200.00. A quite interesting turn of events since the orginal bidding started at US $ 100,000.00. The auction will be open untill 16th of september, if nothing happens in between.

Personally, I would have no problem with him breaking the album. The whole project has been nothing but a prentitious marketing stunt [edit: lol] that only resulted in reclaiming an elite place for art outside of the hands of everybody. A place the internet had just taken it from, taken it from the Labels as some would say. That is also why this in no way can really reflect the legacy of Wu-Tang. Since it is nothing but money & publicity.
You want to revalue art? Bring out an actual masterpiece that the masses can listen to for years on end. One that builds up to a supreme climax that everybody will follow and keep listening too. But do not base it upon a gimmick.

edit: not my best writing

Wu-Wear is being resurrected

Wu-Wear is coming back. And they are promising to make it fresh. I do wonder what that means though. Because at this point, nothing has been really shown apart from a three images. In the mean time, enjoy this one.

(Maybe they should just re-issue the line they had in the video.)

Wu-Tang Clan’s Robert Diggs (RZA) and Oliver Grant (Power) tell Billboard they’re bringing back the iconic hip hop clothing line in partnership with Live Nation’s Merchandise division.

New Clan Album Coming Titled Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues

October the 13th 2017 will bless us with another Wu-tang Clan album. The title of the album is Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues. (Not to be confused with Puffy’s 2001 release.) The album is headed by DJ Allah Mathematics with RZA on the executive duties.

For years, Math has had the idea of putting together a body of music using modern and legendary equipment such as ASR10 with vocal performances by Wu-Tang Clan members and other prominent MCs. With The Saga Continues he’s created a masterpiece. We at 36 Chambers ALC are honored to work with Mathematics and Wu-Tang Clan to put out a great piece of art.
